Installation & Setup

This guide will walk you through setting up Kredex on your local machine for development and testing.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following installed:

• Node.js 18+
• Rust toolchain (Run rustup target add wasm32-unknown-unknown)
• Stellar CLI
• Freighter Wallet Extension (Set to Stellar Testnet)

Installation

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/thisisouvik/kredex.git
   cd kredex

2. Install Dependencies:

   npm install

Environment Configuration

Copy the example environment file to create your local config:

cp .env.example .env.local

You will need to populate the following critical variables:

• NeonDB Connection String (DATABASE_URL) for Prisma ORM.
• Upstash Redis (UPSTASH_REDIS_REST_URL and UPSTASH_REDIS_REST_TOKEN) for caching metrics and loans.
• Stellar Network details (Defaults to Testnet).

Database Setup

Initialize the Prisma schema and push it to your NeonDB instance:

npx prisma generate
npx prisma db push

Run the Application

Start the Next.js development server:

npm run dev

The application will be available at http://localhost:3000.

Smart Contract Development

To compile and test the Soroban smart contracts locally:

cd contracts
cargo test
cargo build --target wasm32-unknown-unknown --release
